Some Things from 3lilangels

3lilangels got me some items again. So nice of her to even wrap the things nicely like a big Christmas present.

These are the items she got for me

These are for my sister in law. I forgot my sister in law wanted the food picks but 3lilangels still remembered and got that for me. So sweet of her.

Thanks 3lilangels.

P.S I forgot to mention that 3lilangels also included a huge lollipop. My boy took the lollipop away when he saw it so couldn't take pic of it.

I made this for J yesterday during his nap. I made use the the smiley face cutters I have for the carrots. I used the quail egg molds that 3lilangels got for me for the quail eggs. The lunch box consist of mayonnaise in the Hello Kitty mayo case, parmesan cheese in the furikake bottle, strawberries, Halloween pasta, carrot faces, quail eggs and broccoli. J likes blanched broccoli and eat with mayonnaise. I packed these in the Magadasca lunch box I got recently.

Madagascar II Bento set

I got this Madagascar II bento set during a movie event. There's a booth set up prior the movie. I was attracted to the tumbler as I was told the plastic that tupperware used is long lasting unlike the usual plastic water bottles and it has lifetime warranty. If I decided to change for a new tumbler or other item, I can use tupperware product to ask for a change or credit note to get other items which I want. So I guess it'll be a good buy. The set consist of the lunch box, snack cup and tumbler. I got the other 2 bigger round containers at a cheaper price as I got the bento set. Was thinking can either use the containers for myself since it's air tight so can be quite useful or give to friends as Christmas present for their children. The small purple tumbler is a gift from the seller when I got the tupperware stuff.

I like this lunch plate as it comes with a cover, let J open the dinner himself. It'll surprise him more.

She got some items for my sister in law as well, but I didnt manage to take pic of the items before gave them to her.The quail egg molds and lunch boxes are from 100 yen shop. The lunch box at the bottom sell the compartments separately, find it'll be useful so ask for the compartments as well. Happy to know that 1o0 yen shop have the Thomas lunch box too, my boy love Thomas. The spiderman pasta is a surprise gift. J and my niece love pasta. Told sister in law, we'll pack the pasta for lunchboxes to let the children to share.

This silicon cup is also a gift from 3lilangels. Isn't it cute? She gave us 2 bear silicon cups, so gave 1 to sister in law. Both of us were very happy and kept exclaiming how cute it is when we saw it.

These are the items I asked 3lilangels to get for me from a online shop in Malaysia. The postage is much cheaper to send to Malaysian then to Sg. Very kind of her to help me to order and get all these items to send to her sister, Wendy. Thanks Wendy.

Isn't it wonderful to know someone who has the same interest as you and help to get feed your addiction.

Bento #11

I prepared this today for J as lunch after his weekly enrichment class. He likes eel so hubby bought this when he saw it in supermarket. We usually have when I made sushi as dinner. It's an easy to prepare meal for me as I only need to prepare the sushi rice and steam the eel.

I added pumpkin flakes which I got from Isetan some time ago to the uncooked rice and cooked together till the rice is ready. I steamed the eel and placed it on top of the cooked rice. I also prepared grapes in the side dishes containers. I used food picks to make the grapes look like balloons, rings, umbrellas and flowers. Niece also attracted to them, she arranged the food picks nicely on the table after she finished the grapes.

I used this mini bento set from Tiger as it can keep the rice warm with the thermal cup container. I like this bento set very much so decided to get a set. There're many designs for similar bento set in market. Hubby find this bento set is good and has an insulated carrier so decided to bring this bento set when we going to Hokkaido next month. We can use this to pack food for J, in case he gets hungry when we're on the road.

I bought a pack of ravioli last week, so made some as today's snack. The ravioli consists of mushroom and cheese as the filings. I don't know if J would like the ravioli or not, so I also prepared animal pasta with the ravioli. I added margarine and parmesan cheese to the ravioli and pasta after cooked. We've finished most of the fruits so did not pack any fruit for today's snack.

Today's snack: mushroom and cheese ravioli and edamame.
I packed the food in this shinkansen lunch box with the newly bought bento strap from Daiso. This lunch box does not comes with a bento strap as it comes with a thermal bag and ice pack instead.

Bento #7

We decided to visit our grandma at the last minute so made this for J & ZY. Dont have time to defrost other food, so only prepared eggs with pasta. I tried to use ice cream shape and similar to a mooncake shape egg molds for the hard boiled egg. But I don't have enough time to mold the eggs so the shapes are not obvious. I manage to use some of the new items my hubby got from Taiwan.

I used a 2-tier Hello Kitty lunch box for today's dinner.

Each child gets a tier so both have the same food, hard boiled eggs and Mickey Mouse pasta. I stirred in some margarine to the pasta before I pack them into the lunch box. The yellow and orange containers are japanese mayonnaise for the hard boiled eggs, rabbit furikake bottle contains parmesan cheese for the pasta.

Friday, September 19, 2008

Bento #6

I used the animals cutters hubby got from Taiwan to make koala bear and giraffe corn bread. I buttered the bread and put in sliced cheese for the bread. I made use of pancake and sliced cheese to create an elephant as part of the deco for today's snack box. I don't have enough space for the quail eggs in the box so try to squeeze them in between the food. As no elephant food pick or fork is used for today's snack, I used an elephant printed divider. Just want something to match this week's theme in school. I got some pomelo in the silicon cup for today's fruit.

Wednesday, September 17, 2008

Bento #5

Today's snack is strawberries, grapes and sweet potato. I tried to make elephants with egg white and egg yolk, I secure the ears, eyes and truck with cream cheese. Dont know if it still look like this after transportation.

This week's theme in school is elephant so I tried to make elephants and used elephant food pick and fork.

Jelly

I made these for J's upcoming snack, so that I have something else to alternate with fruits. I got those pre-mix almond jelly powder. i prefer to use silicon jelly as the jelly will be easy to remove from the molds. The blue and pink 4 in 1 molds are from Daiso which I got recently. I like the size of the molds as it give me bite sizes jelly.

Bento #3

Today's snack consist of the usual fruit grapes, edamame and quail egg. I tried the quail egg mold for a smiley face quail egg but unsuccessful. I left the cooked quail egg in the pot for too long and it became not hot enough to be molded.

Bento #2

This Thomas lunch box is bought by hubby when he went Taiwan. It's actually a 2-tier lunch box but I only used one tier for today's snack. It has a separators that can be removed, the other tier has no separation. What I like about this lunch box is the lid is secure, need no elastic band to secure it. Hubby said the lunch box is on offer when he bought, it's only S$5 for a 2-tier Thomas & Friends lunch box.

I used a small star cookie cutter and made star multi-grain bread with cream cheese. I used star sprinkle to decorate the bread. I used a octopus weiner for the apple sausage to make it looks like an octopus and pasted seaweed as the eyes. But the octopus lost the eyes during the transportation. As I have a big pack of grapes so will pack grapes often for J's snack bento and it's one of his favourite.

Bento #1

I ran out of titles for my blog entries, so I'm going to title them by numbers from now. Lazy to go back to previous posts to start numbering.

This is snack bento I prepared for J this morning. He's starting a new class this term and have to prepare snacks for him for the new class.
I used the food picks that made the grapes look like ring, balloon and flower. Multi grain bread with cheese. They are cut into shapes and print of vehicles.

Great Thanks to Bento Pet

Great thanks to Bento Pet who got these for me from Malaysia, I love them all. Bento Pet and her friend Emily organsied a Bento Party in Malaysia and asked me to get some bento items for her from Daiso. She gave me these as gift, so nice of her.

The items shown are 2 sets of rabbit and bear egg molds and 2 sets of fish and car egg molds. Furikake in cute bottles; smiley faces punchers; weiners. Underneath the items are Lock & Lock chopping board sheet.

Knowing that my sister in law is a egg mold lover, she included 2 sets of egg molds each, isn't it sweet of her.
