Bento #88

It has been quite some time since I made ham sandwich for Justin. Today I made small bites ham sandwich for him. He asked why the bread has no pictures. Guess I have to 'beautify' the sandwich the next time.

The snack consists of ham sandwich and watermelon.

Bento #79

Prepared these for J as his after school snack. I made use of the new silicon quail egg mould to pan fry the quail eggs into flower and heart shape, quite happy with the end result. I made use of an alphabet cutter to 'print' letter 'Y' onto the sausage.

Bento #78

I made ham sandwich for J, using a letter 'Y' cutter to decorate the sandwich as he's learning letter 'Y' this week. The snack consist of ham sandwich and watermelon.

Bento #76

Made J cheese sausage and strawberries for today's snack. Made use of the sausage cutter and picks I received recently to make tulips with the sausage. I packed them in the Mickey Mouse lunch box I bought few weeks ago.

As usual, I made snack for J this morning before he left for his weekend classes. I made use of the new sausage cutters I received yesterday to make patterns for the sausages.


Today's snack is strawberry jam sandwiches, quail eggs and cheese sausages.

Bento #73

Prepared this for J before he went for his weekend class. Made used of the new bread cutter, which makes the bread looks like a chick. The snack consist of ham sandwich and quail eggs.

Just finished making these, tried using the new bread cutter to make the sandwich filled with cheese hotdog.



Made use of quail egg mould to 'print' pig and bunny on the quail eggs. But the result not too good.

Salad

Hubby made this salad last week. We intend to have salad for dinner on some days, as we're trying to lose weight and be healthy.

The salad consist of baby butterhead lettuce, cheese, cheery tomatos, sandwich ham and crab meat. We have the salad with sesame dressing which we got it from the Japanese food section from supermarket.

Bento #69

Made these as snack for J before I fetch him from school today. I made use of quail egg mould to make faces for the quail eggs and new cutters for the ham.

Bento #68

Yesterday J had his weekly classes, so prepared him snack. The snack consist of blueberries, cheese cocktail.


Bento #67

Prepared this for J as dinner on Friday night. He was not feeling well that day, hope that he'll want to eat the dinner when it's packed in a lunch box. Or at least make him feel better. He was happy to see his 2-tier Mickey Mouse lunch box. I made used of the new cutters I bought recently to cut the cheese into bunny and musical notes.
The dinner consist of rice sprinkle with furikake, cheese as decoration for the rice, stir fry minced meat with mushroom and pumpkin.

Rice Balls

Made use of this new mould for yesterday's dinner. This is to make the rice into balls. J said the rice look like the balls he can throw.
This is his dinner, consists of mixed grain rice, minced meat with mushroom and broccoli.

Bento #63

Prepared this as J's dinner last Thursday. I made almond jelly in the afternoon and by the time to pack his lunch box, the jelly is done. His dinner consist of mixed grain rice which is under the minced meat and mushroom, broccoli and almond jelly. The watermelon is his after school snack for J to munch on the way home.
I packed the dinner in a Snoopy bento box with thermal bag, one of my favourite collection.

Bento #62

J wanted to go over to inlaw's after school to play with his cousins. He asked me to pack his dinner in a lunchbox for him. I prepared 2 lunchboxes for him. The kiwi is for him to snack on after school in the car. He now always want to have something after school, so I'll prepare fruits for him to snack on on the way home.

The dinner consist of edamame, pumpkin, chicken and rice. I added grinded rolled oats and mixed grains to the rice, so look brownish.

I packed the dinner in a 2-tier Thomas lunch box which was used in Bento #61

Baked 'Fried' Chicken

I tried a recipe I read from Kitchen Capers forum. It used oven to bake chicken but gives fried chicken texture. It's easy to do and nice to eat and don't feel so guilty since no oil is used.

Bento #46


Made this for J's snack today. Tried making baked bread cup for the first time. I added in cooked fish and shredded cheddar as toppings. I also packed in the mango flavoured fish head nian gao and grapes. After I packed the food then I realised today's snack box is very yellow looking.

Past few days he only had fruits as his after school snack so didnt take pic of it.

Bento #45

As we were rushing for time so only manage to make simple lunchbox for J & ZY on the 1st day of Chinese New Year. Both have the same food, only the shape of the nian gao is different.


I prepared blueberries, nian gao, quail egg, cheese sausage and pasta. I packed parmesan cheese in the furikake bottles.

Bento #36

This lunch box is made yesterday. The lunch box consist of steam sweet corn, cheese sausage, grapes and peanut butter sandwich.


I used the elephant and dolphin food picks to beautify the sausage, so not to look so boring. Finally have grapes in fridge yesterday, so pack them into the lunchbox, made use of food picks to make it look like balloon and flower. I used a cookie cutter and cut out a bunny shape for the bread and used seaweed puncher to give the bread facial expression.
